Together let's create a home for 500 mothers and children from Ukraine!

Our fundraiser will help families in need to find a home, build community and continue education for their children.

Over 2 million people from Ukraine have found refuge in Poland and this number will grow in the coming weeks. These people are staying in our homes, aid centers, fire stations, wherever we can accommodate them. The sight of children sleeping on camp beds, in temp shelters for weeks or months is heartbreaking. We want to do the best we can to ensure their safety and give them hope of a good future ahead.

Sypniewo Resort

In Sypniewo, near Jastrow, we managed to find a place that will bring hope, security and stability for 500 mothers and children. A place that will give them the intimacy of being alone with loved ones, and together as a community. A place where kids will be able to continue their education, play, laugh and spend time with kids their age to get through this hard time.

Since the outbreak of the war, MaYa Foundation has been using its own funds and resources to find rooms, flats and houses for the needy among family, friends and acquaintances. We rented out a whole hostel in Warszawa and secured additional rooms in hotels in Koszalin, which allows us currently to take care of more than 50 mothers with kids.
Now we need your help to do this on a much bigger scale.

Our plan

  1. Our partners are providing us with a rehabilitation and recreation center in Sypniewo near Jastrów, in the Drawsko-Wałeckie Lake District, where until recently school trips, summer camps and camps for children and youth were organized. We pay for the center to have it at our disposal and for it to support the needs of the families.
    • The resort has 171 rooms, each of which can accommodate 2 to 5 people.
    • Each room has the basic equipment needed: beds, a desk, bed linen, and towels.
    • There are 5 rooms for didactic and sports activities in the center, in which lessons will be held.
    • Children will also be able to use the sports fields and the indoor swimming pool.
    • The place has catering facilities.
    • The center is embedded in the green scenery of the West Pomeranian Lake District, providing peace of mind and allowing regeneration.
  2. Families will be able to live there during the war and during the time needed to rebuild the country, which may take up to several months. We want to secure measures that will provide long-term support.
  3. The center will offer medical and psychological assistance. If the situation requires it, it has spaces that can become a clinic, offer group therapies and support PTSD treatment.

Who / what else do we need?

The amount needed for this endeavor is significant, and while we believe we will be able to achieve it together, we have a contingency plan that includes renting out smaller hotels and hostels that will continue to allow for classroom activities and building a supportive community.

The total amount we need to take care of 500 mothers and their children per month, including accommodation, heating, food, and education is around 1million PLN. We are almost halfway through with the fundraising, so please donate to turn this project into reality.
